Life drawing with a twist # 2

Here are some more imaginative life drawings(or so I hope). This session on Saturday mornings are specifically for us animators. The model would pick a character to be and act like it. And trust me, she was great. She had plenty of great attitude. This session's model character was a dancing show girl getting ready for her big day. These type of poses really allow me to push a fun story. I love this type of drawing.

The bottom ones were drawn live, but colored in photoshop.

Smelly Critters

As you might have guessed I really love my character design class. Especially because all we do in there is draw, draw, draw. All of these sketches were not done at my cubicle alone and recluse, but with some reference drawings in character design class with my fellow classmates. Feeding off of my classmates energy is such a great way to inspire me.

An amazing experience

Hi everyone. Boy oh boy the CTN was such an awesome event. For those of you that don't know, the CTN is a creative talent network for animation where people can meet different amazing artists and animation companies and show them your portfolio and stuff. There are also panels and demonstrations too. I mean I met some of my greatest heroes. People like Craig Mcracken, Lou Romano, Ben Balistreri, Leo Matsuda, all got to look at my portfolio and rip it to shreds. It was great.

As far as the picture above goes, I am so pleased and extremely grateful to say that i was invited to talk on a panel about one of my greatest influences ever, Ronald Searle. And get this, the people that were on the panel with me were none other than James Baxter, John Musker and Matt Jones(who actually met Ron Searle in person). It was so humbling to talk next to three amazing artists like these guys. As far as the actual event goes it went great, and i was told that I didn't make a huge ass out myself, which i thought i would. CTN was such a great convention and I hope it repeats itself next year. If they ever read this I would especially like to thank Rik Maki and Tina Price for the opprotunity. You guys are great!

Storyboards!!!

Well here is one of my first attempts at storyboards and I must say that story boarding is TOUGH! There are problems that I encountered over and over again. Well I guess thats the whole part of learning but that frustration is never easy to counter.
